Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems, perform and interpret laboratory tests across neonate to geriatric patients. The role emphasizes accuracy, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.

Candidates should hold an MT/MLS/CLS certification path per the hospital’s criteria (ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS). 1 year of clinical lab experience is preferred, with color-acuity screening required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology with certification as MT/MLS/CLS.
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science with MT/MLS/CLS cert.
• Grandfathered MT with MT/MLS/CLS cert and 1 year clinical lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Ensures testing procedures meet proper standards and regulations.
• Performs color-acuity screening as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
