Job summary

Nazareth Hospital, part of Trinity Health, in the Northeast Philadelphia region, is seeking a full-time Medical Technologist for the microbiology department.

The role involves performing diagnostic lab tests using microscopes, analyzers, and computers to support patient diagnosis and care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology required.
• 2-3 years of clinical laboratory experience; POCT experience preferred.
• Master's or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory sciences or related field (preferred).
• Possess or be eligible for Technologist certification (BB, C, CG, CT, H, HTL, MLS, M, MB) by ASCP.
• With Bachelor's; MT (ASCP) certification or eligible.
• Certified as MT (HEW).
• Certified as MT (AMT).

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic laboratory tests important for detecting, analyzing and treating diseases.
• Operate microscopes, analyzers and computer equipment to provide detailed patient information.
• Perform standard laboratory procedures with independent judgment and responsibility to ensure high-quality patient care.

Description

Nazareth Hospital, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic is looking for a full time Medical Technologist to join our microbiology department.

Shift: Dayshift Responsibilities

A Medical Technologist conducts diagnostic laboratory tests that are important in detecting, analyzing and treating a wide variety of diseases and medical conditions.

Microscopes, chemicals, precision tools, analyzers and computer equipment are used by Medical Technologists to perform tests that give doctors and patients detailed information about various conditions, including the progress and prognosis of the patient.

A Medical Technologist performs standard laboratory procedures requiring a broad use of independent judgment and responsibility, consistently providing high quality patient care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology
• 2-3 years of clinical laboratory experience, POCT experience preferred
• Master's or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory sciences or an appropriately related field (preferred)
• Possess or be eligible for Technologist certification (BB, C, CG, CT, H, HTL, MLS, M, MB) by ASCP
• With Bachelor's; MT (ASCP) certification or eligible.
• Certified as MT (HEW)
• Certified as MT (AMT)
