Job summary

East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA seeks a Medical Technologist I for evenings 12 pm-10:30 pm with rotating weekends. The role performs moderate and high complexity tests, ensures quality control, and supports patient care through accurate results and instrument maintenance.

Eligible candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field and certification; 0-2 years acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• Passing score on Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW) is required.
• 0-2 years of acute care experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and analyzes data.
• Maintains instrument function checks and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and lab safety plan.
• Communicates test results and quality issues to team and supervisors.
• Assists with proficiency testing and regulatory data collection.
• Collects urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy duties as needed.
• Collaborates with team to complete shift duties and department responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
