How does a Medical Equipment Installer support STERIS?

Are you an independent go-getter who is mechanically inclined and prioritizes Customer satisfaction and safety? Join our team as a Medical Equipment Installer! You will support critical hospital operations by installing hospital equipment such as sterilizers, lights/booms, and utility connections in settings including operating rooms and sterile processing areas. Installers ensure high Customer satisfaction from installation through post-installation, supporting continuous patient care. This role involves extensive travel and overnight stays.

Position Details

This is a remote, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in New Jersey to support and service our Customers within the territory.

Travel Expectations

You will travel within your designated territory to various installation sites via company vehicle or air travel, scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance. Weekly travel typically involves day trips, overnight trips, and stays up to a week, with hours varying based on Customer needs. Overtime is common but not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Installation Project Manager to schedule installations aligned with equipment delivery and customer availability.
  • Verify utilities and space are adequate before installation.
  • Install STERIS products, including uncrating, assembling, positioning, leveling, connecting utilities, and testing.
  • Complete electronic service documentation.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction post-installation by cleaning equipment, disposing of packing materials, and addressing questions or issues.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of recent mechanical experience in construction or HVAC, or an Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or related field plus 1+ year of experience.
  • Plumbing and electrical experience preferred.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Windows software.
  • Flexible with priorities and hours, including outside normal business hours and extensive travel.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Ability to meet hospital/customer credentialing requirements.

Pay range: $60,137.50 - $77,825.00, with potential bonuses. Pay is based on experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
