Qualifications

  • Registered by ARRT and possess Arkansas Radiology License preferred.
  • Experience in mammography and education regarding breast health is valued.

Summary of Job Duties: The Mammography Technologist will be responsible for producing quality images and providing patient care in the UAMS Breast Center.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • Graduate of an Accredited Radiology Program.

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

  • Arkansas Department of Health in Radiology License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RT(R)

  • Mammography Registered


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Operates specialized radiologic equipment to perform high-quality breast imaging exams, including mammography and breast ultrasounds.

  • Maintains an adequate level of supplies and keeps the workspace clean.

  • Communicates mammography exam procedures to patients and enlists patient cooperation in positioning for radiological examination.

  • Provides patient education regarding mammography and breast health.

  • Assists with records management and scheduling appointments.

  • Obtains patient history and enters into Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

  • Schedules exams and reviews previous records to determine correct studies are performed.

  • Ensures exams are completed and images are in Picture Archiving and Communication (PACS) systems.

  • Enrolls patients in BreastCare Program as appropriate.

  • Maintains knowledge of breast procedures, including ultrasound biopsy, stereotactic biopsy, MRI-guided biopsy, and needle localizations through continuing education and professional development.

  • Completes other duties as requested.
