Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HT training program and/or ASCP HT certification.
• Previous Mohs histotechnology experience required.
• Experience preparing frozen tissue sections using a cryostat.
• Knowledge of histology, staining techniques, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, freeze, cut, stain, and mount tissue specimens from Mohs surgery using a cryostat.
• Produce accurate, high-quality frozen tissue slides for same-day margin evaluation.
• Operate and maintain cryostats and laboratory equipment.
• Label, track, and document specimens with chain of custody.
• Collaborate with the Mohs surgeon and clinical team to support workflow.
• Maintain quality control, supplies, cleanliness, and required records.
• Follow HIPAA, CLIA, infection control, and lab safety requirements.

Contract Length: 1 year

Pay Range: $32-$34/hr

*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, freeze, cut, stain, and mount tissue specimens from Mohs surgery using a cryostat.

• Properly label, track, and document specimens while maintaining chain of custody.
• Collaborate with the Mohs surgeon and clinical team to support efficient workflow.
• Maintain quality control, laboratory supplies, cleanliness, and required records.
• Follow HIPAA, CLIA, infection control, and laboratory safety requirements.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification(s): Completion of an approved Histo-technician (HT) training program and/or ASCP certification (HT)
• Years of experience: Previous Mohs histotechnology experience required.
• Experience preparing frozen tissue sections using a cryostat.
• Knowledge of histology, staining techniques, and quality control.
