Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine seeks a Medical Technician at our Deer Park, TX site to support daily clinical operations within a nationally recognized occupational health platform.

This full-time role, Mon-Fri 07:30am-04:00pm, involves performing respirator fit testing, pulmonary function tests, vital signs, venipuncture, EKGs, urine testing, injections under physician supervision, and other duties as required, with focus on accuracy and patient care.

Qualifications

  • Current Medical Assistant Certificate with state license (preferred).
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification.
  • Basic Orientation Plus from Alliance Safety Council (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and employees.
  • Previous Occupational Medicine experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to CORE, LLC policies and procedures.
  • Performs Respirator Fit testing.
  • Performs Pulmonary Function Test.
  • Obtains basic history, medical information, and takes vital signs.
  • Administers intramuscular injections under physician supervision.
  • Performs collection of vital signs, visual acuity, and color testing.
  • Performs urine specimen collection following DOT regulations and/or chain of custody requirements.
  • Performs safe venipuncture.
  • Performs urine dipstick testing.
  • Performs 12 lead EKGs.
  • Performs audiometric screening.
  • Performs other duties as required.

This is a full time position working Monday through Friday from 07:30am to 04:00pm.

Position Responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to demonstrate: organizational skills, efficiency in all task and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical information.
  • Ability to effectively present information, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer and telephone.
  • Knowledge of current diagnostic tests, their functions, and normal results.
  • Has consistently demonstrated service-oriented performance.
  • Must adhere to the service expectations of CORE, LLC.
Duties
  • Adheres to all CORE, LLC policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to departmental Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Performs Respirator Fit testing.
  • Performs Pulmonary Function Test
  • Obtains basic history, and medical information, and take vital signs
  • Administers intramuscular injections under authorization and supervision of physician in accordance with State of Louisiana law and prevailing CORE, LLC agreements and protocols.
  • Performs collection of vital signs, Performs visual acuity and color testing.
  • Performs urine specimen collection following DOT regulations and/or chain of custody requirements.
  • Performs safe venipuncture
  • Performs urine dipstick testing.
  • Performs 12 lead EKGs.
  • Performs audiometric screening.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Position Qualifications
  • Current Medical Assistant Certificates with state license (preferred)
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
