Responsibilities

Performs and interprets laboratory tests in the Clinical Laboratory for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Associate’s degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certified as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certified as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist who qualified on or before February 28, 1992, and currently certified as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
• Must submit to a color acuity screening test.

Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW).

PREFERRED

Experience in a Clinical Laboratory Setting.
