Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform and interpret clinical laboratory tests for a wide range of patients from neonates to geriatrics. The role requires meeting education/certification criteria and includes color-acuity screening as part of the process.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in laboratory science or medical technology with appropriate certification; military program graduates with CLS/MLT certification are also considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and eligibility for certification.
• Certification options include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW).
• With an Associate degree in laboratory science, certification as MLT/MLT/CLS is required.
• Military program graduate in science with certification as Medical Technologist/MLS/CLS.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist with prior qualification and current certification as Medical Technologist/MLS/CLS.
• Color-Acuity screening test required.
• Preferred: experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
• OR
• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

• OR
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1.Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
• OR
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1. • Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test
