This large, reputable acute care hospital in Southern Illinois is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Surgical Nurse Supervisor to join a dedicated Inpatient Nursing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Charge Nurse or Nurse Unit Coordinator to take the next step in their management career.

In this pivotal role, the Med/Surg Nursing Supervisor will report to an experienced and tenured CMSRN Nurse Manager. Supported by a team of excellent Medical Surgical Charge Nurses / Leaders and Acute Care Nurse Educators, the Supervisor will lead clinical patient care operations in this 40+ bed General Medical and Surgical Unit.

The Med/Surg Patient Care Nursing Supervisor will lead clinical patient care operations in a 48-bed general Medical Surgical Department. This department sees patients from across the spectrum of Medical and Surgical Specialties, including Telemetry, Oncology, Orthopedics, and Kidney/Renal. This department has a consistently high-census, so strong communication and organizational skills will be very important for RN Leaders here.

Key responsibilities of the Nurse Supervisor of Med/Surg will include managing staff schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, and providing guidance and support to nursing staff in complex clinical situations. The Supervisor will be instrumental in the training and development of nursing staff, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies. Additionally, you will assist in the coordination of patient care activities, facilitating smooth communication between physicians, ancillary staff, and other multidisciplinary team members.
