Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a Medical-Surgical LPN for full-time day shifts (12 hours, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm) at Saint John Hospital. This role focuses on delivering hands-on nursing care across a broad spectrum of medical conditions and coordinating with RNs and physicians to support patient recovery.

The position requires an active LPN license in Kansas, current BLS on hire, and state-specific IV certification.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state license required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained.
• IV certification upon hire (state-specific).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including hygiene support, mobility assistance, and comfort measures.
• Monitor vital signs, document observations, and report any changes in the patient’s condition.
• Administer medications as prescribed and observe for reactions or side effects.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and assist with procedures within the state LPN scope of practice.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and the care team to support individualized care plans.
• Assist with discharge planning and provide patient/family education on treatments and recovery.
• Follow infection control practices and maintain accurate patient records.
