Medical Support Assistant

Prometheus Federal Services (PFS), a trusted partner to federal health agencies, has an opening for multiple Medical Support Assistants. The work will be on-site at Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO.

Responsibilities

1. Perform appointment scheduling in accordance with VHA Directive 1230.
2. Coordinate with Lead Scheduler and reception team to ensure competent and positive representation of the VA.
3. Manage patient communications and ensure timely responses.
4. Coordinate and authorize Veteran care with community providers as needed.
5. Communicate with medical providers regarding VA Community Care rules and processes.
6. Notify supervisors of system issues.
7. Validate and update patient demographic information.
8. Process health and administrative information into CPRS and VistA systems.
9. Handle community care consults via HSRM and PPMS systems.
10. Screen and respond courteously to phone calls.
11. Use Microsoft Office Suite daily for various tasks.
12. Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, and follow-up contacts.
13. Provide quality customer service to patients, families, VA staff, and contractors.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. At least six months of recent customer service experience.
2. High School diploma or GED.
3. Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
4. Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
5. Basic computer skills and typing at least 50 WPM.
6. Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
