OverviewAnsible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Medical Support Assistants (MSA) to support the Philadelphia VA Medical Center located at 3900 Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Working hours are Sat - Sun, 8:00am-4:30pm, 4:00pm--12:00am, or 12:00am-8:00am. Weekend coverage may be required on a rotational basis. Competitive packages are available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities- Schedule appointments and utilize the Electronic Waiting List accurately and promptly.
- Coordinate appointments with patient input, either in-person or by phone, aiming to minimize multiple trips to the medical center.
- Notify the VA shift supervisor if clinic access issues arise or if patients cannot be scheduled within mandated timeframes.
- Review active/pending consults, Electronic Wait List, Recall list, and Audio Care communications daily for accuracy and proper disposition.
- Provide reception support in the Release of Information (ROI) offices at various medical centers.
- Scan insurance cards, safeguard secure information, and complete all insurance buffer (ICB) encounters as required.
- Make outgoing and receive incoming phone calls.
- Review travel reimbursement requests and reconcile claims/vouchers using electronic systems.
- Review ambulance claims for eligibility and payment.
- Assist in arranging transportation for eligible patients and coordinate with clinical teams for appropriate transportation modes.
Qualifications- Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
- Ability to speak clearly, hear, and write in English.
- Proficient in computer programs such as spreadsheets and word processing; capable of typing 40-50 words per minute with minimal errors.
- Heavy usage of phone and computer, often simultaneously.
- Familiarity with medical and hospital terminology and/or clinics.
- Technically proficient in skills necessary to meet government requirements; training on appointment management, VA policies, and procedures will be provided by SFVAHS.
- Education or experience (or both):
- Two-year degree.
- Two years of relevant work experience.
- Certification from an accredited institution.
- MSA Certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to pass a security clearance at the NACI level.
- No sponsorship available.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during work shifts.
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
- Lift up to 20 lbs.
- Carry up to 40 lbs over a reasonable distance.
- Push/pull with up to 30 lbs of force.
