Description

JOB SUMMARY: Provide Medical Support Assistant services for the Pawnee Indian Health Center.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Use standard forms to process incoming staff and patients by:
• Screen persons as required to enter facility.
• Complete insurance forms.
• Schedule appointments by phone or other methods.
• Maintain medical records.
• Record and file patient charts and medical records.
• Able to use a computer to complete tasks in the EHR.
• Ensure anyone waiting at the Dental front desk is attended to in a timely manner.
• If there are medical or security issues, the MSA will get medical staff or security to address them in a timely manner.
• Answer the telephone, record and relay messages and/or redirect calls as necessary.
• Will refer urgent messages as necessary for immediate action. This need will be fulfilled by one (1) medical assistant working an 8-hour shift.
• Direction will be provided by the dental assistant supervisor.
• Knowledge of communication skills and proficiency in the English language to allow for tactful and diplomatic relations with all levels of staff, patients, and their families.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills as well as organizational management skills.
• Have experience with standard office administrative functions with verbal and writing skills.
• Frequently walk, reach, kneel, stoop, stand.
• Lift up to 25 pounds.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Background check required.
