The work of an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) includes serving as an initial point of contact for units, clinics, patients, call centers, including scheduling patient appointments, tracking, reviewing, and responding to electronic orders, consults, and other elements in electronic medical records and systems. This role requires practical knowledge of data entry, information processing systems, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations.
Varied shifts, mostly Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST.
Position involves partial sedentary work with walking, standing, bending, and light carrying. Work environment includes patient care settings with safety precautions. Candidates should be mentally and emotionally stable, adaptable, and capable of working in stressful situations.
At least one year of experience at the GS-5 level or equivalent, involving scheduling, data entry, patient coordination, and team collaboration. Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare processes, policies, medical terminology, and ability to communicate effectively across disciplines is essential.
Ensure all documents are complete to avoid ineligibility. Selected candidates will undergo reference checks and background screening.
