Summary: The Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) supports the decontamination, preparation, sterilization, disinfection, and distribution of the facility's critical and semi-critical reusable medical devices (RMD). The MST follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for processing RMD, ensuring proper decontamination, sterilization, and disinfection.
Duties include:
Work Schedule: M-F 6:00am-2:30pm.
Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen, proficient in English, pass background/security checks, and complete pre-employment processes. Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination is required.
Qualifications: Experience or education in sterile processing, with progression from GS-3 to GS-6 levels based on experience, education, and demonstrated KSAs. Preferred experience includes at least 1 year in sterile processing and VA Sterile Processing Certification or equivalent.
Physical Requirements: Work involves standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, working in hot/cold environments, and wearing PPE. The work area can be noisy and may involve exposure to burns and chemicals.
