Job summary

Salem Health is seeking a Medical Staff Services Manager to lead credentialing, privileging, and provider enrollment. You will guide a team through complex regulatory requirements, ensuring timely and accurate processing and governance alignment.

You will partner with physicians and executives, drive continuous improvement using Lean and A3 methods, and foster a culture of service, collaboration, and accountability across the department.

Qualifications

• Five-plus years in Medical Staff Services or related hospital ops with credentialing/ privileging experience.
• Two-plus years of formal supervisory or management experience.
• Experience interpreting regulatory/accreditation standards and driving compliance actions.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and data-driven decision making.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with physicians and executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Medical Staff Services operations for credentialing, privileging, appointments, reappointments, and provider enrollment.
• Oversee timely processing of provider applications and credentialing workflows.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on credentialing standards, regulatory requirements, accreditation expectations, and governance.
• Review complex credentialing matters and advise on eligibility, privileges, adverse findings, and risk.
• Support professional practice evaluation processes and Medical Staff committee operations.
• Monitor provider data integrity, departmental controls, and performance metrics.
• Identify operational risks and gaps; implement Lean/A3 driven improvements to performance and compliance.
• Escalate high-risk or noncompliant situations with clear recommendations to leadership.
• Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate a team of Credentialing staff and Analysts.
• Set performance expectations and provide development opportunities.
• Manage staffing, workload, technology resources, budgets, and priorities.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement culture.
• Lead Lean initiatives and A3 problem-solving across the department.
