Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking a senior leader to oversee the Medical Staff Services Department's credentialing, privileging, and reappointment processes. You will drive policy, improve workflows, and ensure accreditation and regulatory compliance across the Health System from the Medical Staff Office.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
• Good organizational skills and oral/written communication skills.
• Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive material.
• Knowledge of medical staff and hospital administration functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee credentialing, privileging, and reappointment processes across the Health System.
• Develop and improve departmental operations, policies, and workflows for compliance.
• Serve as liaison between executive leadership, Medical Staff leadership, providers, and admin departments.
• Coordinate Joint Credentials Committee meetings; prepare agendas and minutes.
• Perform quality reviews of credentialing files and resolve issues prior to review.
• Oversee timely electronic reviews by Medical Staff leadership and Joint Credentials Committee.
• Collaborate with Performance Improvement and Risk Management to address quality and risk issues.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS, state).
• Attend Medical Staff committee meetings and document actions.
• Assist Chief Medical Officer with medical staff contracts and reimbursements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree preferred
