Job summary

Natchitoches Regional Medical Center is seeking a part-time Medical Scribe for the NRMC Wound Care Clinic in Natchitoches, LA. You will accompany physicians, transcribe histories, document encounters, orders and procedures, and maintain accurate medical records while upholding patient privacy and professional conduct.

Required: High School diploma and current BLS within 6 months; 6 months experience as a medical scribe or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS certification required within the first 6 months of employment.
• Bachelor of Science degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Accompany physician into the patient examination room to transcribe history and physical exams and document encounters.
• List all diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
• Transcribe patient orders including labs, radiology, medications, etc.
• Document procedures performed by the physician.
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Adhere to employer work practices.
• Establish and maintain relationships with physicians, staff and management.
• Cope with typical job stress.
• Document work processes as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
