Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a Medical Scribe to support physicians by handling clerical duties during patient encounters and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR. The role aids physicians in spending more time with patients, improving workflow and care delivery.

Responsibilities include transcribing histories, coding data, processing orders, and coordinating with care teams. Prior medical office experience and CMA certification are preferred for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.
• Minimum of 17 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Handle time-consuming clerical duties for physicians during patient encounters.
• Document events and decisions in EMR accurately.
• Assist with processing physician orders for tests and medications.
• Support patient care by preparing and organizing records and materials.
• Transcribe history and physicals and ensure correct coding (CPT/ICD-10).
• Provide patient advocacy and communicate needs to providers.
