The Opportunity

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.

You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

• Assist qualified donors in completing screening procedures, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screening tests such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature. Perform finger stick to obtain hematocrit and total protein levels.
• After appropriate training, educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products, screening process, appointment system, donation fees, policies, nutrition, and other relevant information. Answer donor questions professionally and timely.
• Register applicants and transfer donors as trained and needed.
• Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to appropriate staff.
• Monitor donors for reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff if needed.
• Alert supervisors of donor flow issues.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable. Maintain a clean work environment and ensure supplies are available.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting safety in all actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed. Bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum three months in a clerical or customer service role, preferably in medical or health services, or equivalent experience.
• Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to see, speak with customers, and observe equipment operation.
• Perform tasks standing and walking up to 100% of the time.
• Reach, bend, kneel, manual dexterity required.
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, blood-borne pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
