Job Description Summary

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.

Job Responsibilities

1. Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screenings such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature, and finger stick sampling.
2. Educate new donors on the donation process, health screening tests, policies, nutrition, and answer donor questions.
3. Register applicants and transfer donors as trained.
4. Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
5. Monitor donors during and after the pheresis process for reactions and notify staff if needed.
6. Report donor flow issues to the supervisor.
7. Record donor data accurately in the electronic system.
8. Understand policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
9. Maintain a clean work environment and ensure supplies are available.
10. Follow all safety, health, and confidentiality policies.
11. Cross-train in other areas as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 months experience in clerical or customer service, preferably in a medical setting.
• Basic math skills.

Working Conditions

• Ability to follow instructions and observe safety protocols.
• Ability to see, speak with customers, and observe equipment.
• Stand and walk frequently; perform manual tasks and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to chemicals, temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens.
