The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) invites qualified students to join our student tutoring program in Erie, Pennsylvania. Tutors support peers who are failing or struggling, offering group or individual instruction outside regular classes.

Tutors work with the Coordinator of Student Tutoring, submit weekly time sheets, and maintain confidentiality while upholding professional standards. A GPA of 3.5+ and completion of at least the first medical education semester are required,

Qualifications

Must be a current LECOM student with GPA 3.5+ and have completed at least the first semester of medical education.
With approval of the Associate Dean of Pre-Clinical Education, a first-year medical student in their first semester with prior experience may tutor first-year medical students and Post Baccalaureate students needing assistance.
LECOM expects employees to uphold its mission and professional standards in all interactions.

Responsibilities

Provide instructional help to students in groups of five or fewer or individually as needed.
Meet assigned students with the Coordinator of Student Tutoring and report attendance and progress.
Submit weekly timesheets to the Administrative Assistant to Pre-Clinical Education.
Maintain confidentiality and professional appearance.
Interact professionally with faculty, students, and visitors.
Assist in maintaining efficient daily operations and perform other duties as assigned.
