Job summary

Cognito LLC, a Planned Systems International (PSI) joint venture, seeks a PRN Medical Records Technician to support IHSC at the T. Don Hutto Detention Center in Taylor, TX. You will maintain electronic health records, verify documentation, and schedule patient appointments while upholding privacy and data integrity.

The role requires flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with on-site duties at the Taylor facility. CPR AED certification and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; CPR AED Heartsaver certification.
• Minimum 1 year in healthcare as Medical Records/clerical role.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
• Able to pass background check and drug screen; immunizations up to date.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records and HIPAA/privacy rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain eHR records, verify and file medical documentation.
• Schedule appointments and run data reports from the system.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of the eHR data.
• Manage high volume records and respond to routine information requests.
• Process, route, and archive reports in prescribed timelines.
