BRCC is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to organize and file patient information, prepare charts for visits, and maintain EMR documentation. You will ensure confidentiality, comply with regulations, and support front office operations. A high school diploma and 3–5 years in medical records are expected.
Responsibilities include scanning, chart retrieval, release of records, and coordinating with physicians and front desk staff to keep records accurate and accessible.
SCOPE:Under direct supervision, assists with organizing, sorting, and filing all incoming and outgoing patient information. Prepares charts for patient visits. Files, locates, retrieves and delivers medical records and/or electronic medical records as assigned. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Position requires 3-5 years’ experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Previous experience in a medical records’ experience preferred. Knowledge of electronic health record systems. Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail and Quality Focus skills needed.
The general pay scale for this position at BRCC is $13.27-$20.41. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.
