Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast seeks a Medical Records Specialist to support the HIM Director with HPF/MPF workflows, record scanning and indexing, and unbilled account resolution. You will act as the primary contact when leadership is unavailable, ensuring timely retrieval and processing of medical records and related documents.

The role involves working with 3M 360 Encompass systems, maintaining birth certificate processes where applicable, and coordinating with departments to ensure

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience handling patient health information, medical records imaging and/or medical records preferred.
• Certification program from the state may be required for birth certificate processing; training and course fees provided.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves discharged medical records and reconciles them to ensure all records are accounted for.
• Facilitates retrieval, printing, storage, archival and retention of documents not scanned into HPF/MPF.
• May assist with physician suspension processes by evaluating suspensions and handling notices.
