You will image and scan records into the EMR, process requests for health information, and issue files to authorized parties in compliance with laws. The role also involves audits, training staff, and collaboration with IT.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED; 2 years of medical record management experience.
• Alternative: diploma/certificate in medical records or medical office assistant program with 1 year healthcare experience.
• Ability to scan/index patient records accurately; HIPAA compliance knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure medical documents, including lab/imaging/consult reports, are completed and signed by providers.
• Imaging and scanning of medical documents into EMR system.
• Receive and process requests for patient health information per policies.
• Issue medical files to authorized parties per laws.
• Participate in medical record audits.
• Answer inbound/outbound calls.
• Train other employees on processing medical records.
• Maintain an organized, neat work-area.
• Safeguard patient records and HIPAA compliance.
• Work with IT on medical record management issues.
• May assist with administrative duties such as opening mail, ordering office supplies.
