Job summary

Responsibilities include managing document indexing in the EMR, overseeing release-of-information requests, and leading a team to improve workflows and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in medical records, healthcare administration, or related.
• Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, retention requirements, and release-of-information standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Medical Records operations, including record maintenance and workflow coordination.
• Process and monitor medical record requests from patients, attorneys, and other entities.
• Ensure accurate indexing and management of documents in the EMR system.
• Manage archives, off-site storage, and document retrieval.
• Monitor turnaround times, service levels, and compliance with regulations.
• Respond to calls and emails, maintaining exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with Clinical Services, Revenue Cycle, Operations, and Compliance to resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain procedures for records management and release of information.
