Hemet Hills Post Acute is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Assistant to join our team. The role ensures resident medical records are accurate, secure, and compliant with federal and state regulations, in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and customer-service oriented. Responsibilities include chart assembly, audits, confidentiality, and collaboration with nursing and administrative staff to support quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare records or medical administration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy requirements essential.
• Experience with PCC or other EHR systems preferred.
• Strong organizational, time-management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain resident medical records in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Assemble, file, and audit charts and documentation.
• Distribute records to authorized personnel as requested.
• Ensure records are accurate, complete and up-to-date.
• File physician orders, progress notes, lab reports and other clinical docs.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge record processing.
• Support records audits and compliance activities.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and privacy regs.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, and admin teams.
• Track incomplete records and obtain needed corrections.
• Support departmental projects and other duties as assigned.
