Job summary

Ray County Hospital & Healthcare seeks a leader to plan, develop and direct the Medical Records services, ensuring complete, accurate and legally compliant documentation, including deficiency analysis, data integrity and release of information. The role supervises department staff, drives quality improvement projects and audits, maintains procedures, and supports administration.

Familiarity with Missouri and federal regulations, confidentiality and professional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• RHIT/RHIA credential required with ongoing education.
• Previous Medical Records experience desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with office equipment and computer systems.
• Must be trustworthy with strict patient privacy confidentiality.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and direct Medical Records services to ensure complete, accurate and legally compliant documentation.
• Supervise deficiency analysis, data integrity and release of information.
• Ensure compliance with federal and Missouri requirements (HIDI, Medicare, Medicaid, cancer registry, etc.).
• Supervise Medical Records staff and lead quality improvement projects and audits.
• Assist department staff with procedures and routine duties as needed.
• Maintain employee schedules, payroll and evaluations.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the department.
• Serve on the Corporate Compliance Committee and attend Medical Staff Meetings.
