Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires BS degree or equivalent experience with HIM training.
• RHIA or RHIT credential or health-related degree with HIM training.
• Experience with post-acute care health information management and HIPAA rules.

Responsibilities

• Audit and manage patients' clinical records for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain filing systems for current, overflow, and discharged records.
• Serve as Privacy Officer for HIPAA compliance and staff training.
• Understand LTC payment systems and Medicare basics.
• Apply ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding in daily work.
• Lead and supervise medical records staff; ensure data confidentiality.
