Job summary

Coastal Harbor Health System in Savannah, GA, is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to manage active and archived patient charts with precision. You will serve as a key communications point within the department, ensuring clinicians have timely access to accurate information.

You will conduct monthly audits, review charts for ICD coding accuracy, and input data into electronic systems to support accurate billing and reporting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Training or experience in medical coding, chart analysis, and medical terminology; certification in medical coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly audits of patient charts to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assemble, review, and audit discharged patient records, accurately abstracting required medical information and data.
• Collect, compile, and enter patient data into electronic systems, generating reports to support departmental and operational needs.
• Review patient charts for accurate ICD coding, verify diagnoses, and enter complete diagnostic information into the billing system to support timely and accurate claims processing.
