Job summary

Holt Senior Care & Rehab Center is hiring a Medical Records Clerk to maintain resident records in accordance with federal and state guidelines. You will handle hard copy and electronic records, ensure accuracy, and support regulatory compliance.

The role requires at least 1 year of related experience, strong English communication, and solid organizational skills. A full-time schedule with competitive benefits and ongoing training is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of related experience, with working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must be thorough and detail-oriented.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, physicians, visitors, and all facility personnel.
• Good computer skills; experience with electronic medical records desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current records of all residents admitted/discharged per policies.
• Maintain hard copy and electronic records of admissions, discharges, census and data as directed.
• Audit resident charts for compliance.
• Maintain current knowledge of medical records practices and state regulations.
• Attend and participate in continuing education and in-service programs.
• Follow HIPAA regulations and facility policies.

The Medical Records Clerk maintains medical records in accordance with federal and state guidelines, as well as facility policies and procedures, to ensure that a complete medical records program is maintained.

How You Will Help People Every Day

• Maintain current records of all residents admitted/discharged by the facility in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintain hard copy and electronic records of resident admissions, discharges, census, and various other data, as directed by the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
• Audit resident charts for compliance.
• Maintain current knowledge of medical records practices and procedures, governing rules, regulations and state survey standards.
• Attend and participate in continuing education and in-service programs.
• Follow federal and state skilled nursing facilities regulations and department policies and procedures, as well as HIPPA related regulations.
