Job summary

Conviva Senior Primary Care is seeking a Medical Records Clerk 1 to assemble, maintain, and verify patient health information across medical records and charts. The role requires data entry, communication with physicians, and adherence to policies.

A valid driver's license and bilingual English/Spanish abilities are preferred. Reporting to the Manager, Clinic/Center Administration, you will work 40 hours per week in Hudson, FL.

Qualifications

• Less than 3 years’ working knowledge of computers or demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have valid state driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance (100/300/100).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and maintain patients’ health information in medical records and charts.
• Enter data into the system and ensure forms are properly identified, completed, and signed.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to clarify diagnoses or obtain information.
• Assist with coding of diagnoses and procedures within defined guidelines.
• Work under supervision within established policies and procedures.

The Medical Records Clerk 1 performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments.

The Medical Records Clerk 1 ensures all forms are properly identified, completed, and signed. Enters all necessary information into the system. Communicates with physicians and staff to clarify diagnoses or get additional information. May also assign a code to each diagnosis and procedure. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

Required Qualifications

• Less than 3 years’ working knowledge of computers, or a demonstrated technical aptitude

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
• This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits

Other Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Previous healthcare or health insurance experience
• Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-9 codes
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Humana considers this role patient facing and runs its Tuberculosis (TB) screening program, which includes this role. If selected for this role, we will require you to screen for TB.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$38,000 - $45,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
