Job summary

TeemaGroup is seeking a Medical Program Assistant Associate (MPAA) for a 26-week contract, working 24 hours weekly with 8:00am–4:30pm shifts on Mon/Tue/Fri or Mon/Thu/Fri. You will support healthcare operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with EMR systems and HIPAA compliance. Collaboration with clinicians and attorneys is a key part of the job.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in healthcare administration preferred.
  • Experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, health information management, or related field preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification through the AHA.
  • Experience working with EMR/EHR systems.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and medical record confidentiality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage patient and legal requests for medical record reviews and releases.
  • Retrieve, review, redact, and prepare healthcare records in accordance with privacy regulations and policies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate medical record reviews and document releases.
  • Scan and upload approximately 400 medical records per week into the EMR system.
  • Provide administrative support to approximately 12 clinicians, assisting with scheduling, documentation, and correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and ensure proper filing.
  • Prioritize and manage a high-volume workload with deadlines.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, attorneys, healthcare providers, and internal departments.
  • Perform general administrative duties to support clinic operations.
