This full-time temporary position includes translation services, data entry, and support for billing and scheduling, with potential wage increases for highly experienced candidates.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year's experience as a Receptionist in a clinic preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills required at a level 9.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to interact with patients, Providers, and staff in a professional manner.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology desired.
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare billing insurance desired.
  • Basic proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Answers the phone, transfers calls and takes messages as needed for the clinic.
  • Greet patients and maintain patient and visitor logs. Notifies the appropriate person of the patient’s arrival.
  • Ensures accurate and complete data and forms are collected for all patients. Creates and maintains patient charts.
  • Schedules patient appointments according to scheduling guidelines, appointment type, and time needed.
  • Verifies patient’s insurance eligibility and obtains and files insurance documentation.
  • Reviews and responds to patients’ questions in person, via phone, and patient portal systems.
  • May perform routine billing functions such as posting patient encounters and generating end-of-day reports.
  • Reviews cash box receipts and reconciles the cash box daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Join our team as a Temporary Medical Receptionist at Miramar Health Center in Kennewick, WA! Medical Receptionists play a vital role in our organization by serving as the frontline connection between our patients and the care they receive. As the first point of contact, you set the tone for a welcoming, respectful, and patient‑centered experience. Your work ensures our clinics run smoothly, coordinating communication, supporting Providers, maintaining accurate information flow, and helping patients navigate appointments, insurance, and access to care. Your attention to detail and commitment to exceptional service directly supports our mission to deliver high‑quality, accessible healthcare to the communities we serve.


This is a full-time (40 hours/week) Temporary position with a projected end date of 4/2/27.


Position Highlights


  • $18.45-$22.60/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.

  • Additional pay for your bilingual skills, paid on hours worked


What You’ll Do


  • Answers the phone, transfers calls and takes messages as needed for the clinic

  • Greet patients and maintain patient and visitor logs. Notifies the appropriate person of the patient’s arrival. Provides translation services as needed to patients

  • Ensures accurate and complete data and forms are collected for all patients. Creates and maintains patient charts, registering new patients and updating patient data in the computer

  • Schedules patient appointments according to scheduling guidelines, appointment type, and time needed. Notifies appropriate Provider of all patient no-shows and cancellations. Adjusts and updates the schedule for cancellations, new patients and recall appointments

  • Verifies patient’s insurance eligibility and obtains and files insurance documentation. Assist patients with questions regarding insurance plans as needed

  • Reviews and responds to patients’ questions in person, via phone, and patient portal systems

  • May perform routine billing functions such as posting patient encounters, encouraging payment, taking payments and generating end-of-day reports

  • Reviews cash box receipts and reconciles the cash box daily

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • One year's experience as a Receptionist in a clinic preferred

  • This position is eligible for Bilingual Differential Compensation when an ALTA score of 9 is achieved

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills required at a level 9

  • Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions

  • Ability to interact with patients, Providers, and staff in a professional manner

  • Ability to deliver outstanding customer service

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology desired

  • Basic knowledge of healthcare billing insurance desired

  • Basic proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
