Medical Receptionist - Nephrology

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Pay: From $18/HR

Must Have:

• Experience as a Medical Receptionist in Nephrology
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience working with EMR systems; knowledge of EPIC preferred
• Experience handling a high volume of incoming calls
• Experience scheduling appointments
• Experience verifying insurance coverage and benefits
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Register new patients, ensuring complete and accurate demographic information according to procedures
• Verify patients' insurance eligibility and benefits at each visit
• Update patient charts with accurate information
• Scan documents into the electronic medical record as directed
• Complete daily tasks to gather missing demographic and insurance information for billing
• Obtain prior authorizations for care as needed
• Answer phones and collect patient demographic information
• Perform other duties as assigned
