Job summary

Texas Health Care PLCC is seeking a Medical Assistant to greet patients, enter data, check-in/out, verify insurance, schedule and support procedures in a fast-paced office.

Applicants must have a Medical Assistant diploma or certificate; NextGen EHR experience is a plus. Strong telephone and typing skills and knowledge of CPT/ICD coding and insurance plans are preferred. Training and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a Medical Assistant diploma, certification, or graduate transcript.
• NextGen EHR experience is a plus and not having prior interventional pain medicine exposure is not excluded.
• Excellent people and telephone skills; familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding; knowledge of HMOs, PPOs, and insurance plans.
• Excellent typing and math skills, ten-key by touch, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• NextGen EPM/EMR experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and enter new patient information.
• Check patients in and out and verify insurance coverage.
• Answer telephones and schedule appointments on the computer.
• Collect co-payments and assist with procedures as needed.
• Clean and stock rooms, manage refills and pre-certifications.
• Room patients and schedule procedures; assist with lab work and EHR charting.
