Job description

The Stephenson Medical Practice is looking for a full-time enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to support their Practice Team.

The candidate should have previous Primary Care experience. EMIS web experience would be advantageous; however, training will be provided.

Job responsibilities
Responsibilities
  • Provide support to all clinical staff
  • Ensure computers are prepared, telephones diverted and re-diverted, rooms opened for surgeries
  • Deal with all incoming and outgoing post
  • Enter updated patient information onto the practice clinical system
  • Receive telephone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries
  • Handle requests for repeat medication appropriately
  • Manage ambulance booking requests
  • Ensure collection and distribution of specimens received
  • Arrange and maintain appointment systems for the primary care team
  • Book and cancel appointments as needed
  • Keep the waiting room tidy at all times
  • Ensure locums receive all necessary information
  • Support attached staff to ensure efficient patient service
  • Handle actions related to path lab results and correspondence
  • Resolve IT issues, including hardware problems, with support from third-party providers

  • Experience of effective teamwork
  • Experience in Primary Care
Qualifications
  • NVQ2 Administration or NVQ3 Customer Service
  • GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
