Reports to the Practice Manager and works under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, Office Supervisor and/or Office Coordinator. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs various reception, clerical and patient care duties. Duties include greeting patients, answering the telephone, maintaining physicians' schedules, admitting and discharging patients, collecting payments, entering patient charges and compiling reports.

Key Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and visitors professionally and cheerfully, assisting as needed, and checking patients in for appointments.
- Answering phones, relaying messages accurately to clinical staff.
- Scheduling and maintaining patient appointments with physician providers.
- Gathering and entering demographic and insurance data into the system, verifying and updating as needed.
- Maintaining patient records, entering charges, and posting services.
- Processing prescription refills and scheduling tests, procedures, and surgeries.
- Providing instructions for procedures and follow-up.
- Obtaining insurance pre-certifications and managing electronic records flow sheets.
- Paging physicians and managing communication regarding call status and imaging.
- Entering data into specialty programs and ensuring accuracy.
- Performing clerical duties like faxing, copying, and typing.
- Ordering and maintaining office supplies.
- Opening and sorting mail daily.
Basic Patient Care Duties
- Assisting physicians when necessary.
- Escorting patients to exam rooms courteously in the absence of clinical staff.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participating in committees and professional development activities.
- Completing assigned duties and projects.
Organizational Responsibilities
- Attending meetings and completing mandatory training and certifications.
- Maintaining licensure and certifications, adhering to safety and compliance standards.
- Working overtime and additional shifts as required.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be at least 17 years old. One-year office experience, medical terminology, and coding experience preferred. Spanish speaking skills desired.

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. Ability to work in a team and solve patient problems.

- Work in a medical office environment with flexible hours. Physical stamina required.
