Job summary

Optum/ProHealth Physicians in Manchester, CT is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to greet patients, check in/out, schedule appointments and manage payments. The role supports the Family Medicine team and may float to local practices as needed.

The position requires strong customer service, basic EHR experience, and computer skills. Schedule is full-time, with some Saturday rotation. Benefits are included where eligible.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 1+ year of receptionist or customer service experience.
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct check-in and check-out process.
  • Answer incoming calls and use EHR to document details of patient inquiries.
  • Conduct outreach to patients requiring appointments or service follow-up.
  • Schedule appointments using standard scheduling protocols.
  • Manage administrative in-basket pools and work queues.
  • Scan documents into the EHR per standard protocols.
  • Balance payments and prepare deposits.
  • Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Provide coverage at other ProHealth locations on an ad hoc basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ProHealth Physicians has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient-focused and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our growing Family Medicine team.

This position will support the care team and its patients by greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments, answering telephone inquiries, collecting payments and maintaining demographic information. Additionally, they will routinely use the electronic health record (EHR) according to ProHealth policies and standard workflows.

May be asked to float to local practices in the region for coverage depending on business need.

Schedule: Full time 40 hours, Monday - Friday, will be working an 8 hour shift between the business hours of 7:30AM-6PM, with Saturday rotations 1x per quarter, 8AM-12PM. Schedule to be determined by a manager upon hire.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ year of receptionist or customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience working in a primary care setting
  • Experience working with Epic

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment.
