Job summary

Optum/ProHealth Physicians seeks a Medical Receptionist to join our Bristol, CT team. This full-time role (40 hours) operates Monday–Friday with potential Saturday coverage, serving as the first point of contact for patients and providing front-desk support across the EHR system.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of receptionist experience, HS diploma, and strong MS Office skills, with ability to travel 10% within the region.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • 1+ years of receptionist experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time within 30 miles of territory assigned, must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and triage appointment requests for urgency according to approved protocols consistent with ProHealth's Appointment and Scheduling Guidelines.
  • Use call processing and other applicable functionality in the EHR to take messages and communicate with clinicians.
  • Greet patients and conduct check-in process.
  • Monitor daily reminder call logs to reschedule appointments as needed.
  • Scan and index documents into the EHR; ensure that necessary documents, lab results, etc. are available in advance of patient visits.
  • Close payment batch(es) at the end of each shift, assemble and balance batch(es) according to ProHealth cash control procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of current OSHA and ProHealth policies.
  • Assist coworkers as needed to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ProHealth Physicians has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detail oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team. The position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday between 7am - 6:30 pm with an occasional Saturday morning. May be asked to float to local practices in the region for coverage.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and triage appointment requests for urgency according to approved protocols consistent with ProHealth's Appointment and Scheduling Guidelines. Consult a medical assistant or licensed clinician for clinical decision making whenever necessary
  • Use call processing and other applicable functionality in the EHR to take messages and communicate with clinicians
  • Greet patients and conduct check-in process
  • Monitor daily reminder call logs to reschedule appointments as needed
  • Scan and index documents into the EHR; ensure that necessary documents, lab results, etc. are available in advance of patient visits

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 1+ years of receptionist experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time within 30 miles of territory assigned, must have reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6+ months of experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting
  • 6+ months of experience working with an electronic health record

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
