Job summary

EPIC Health System LLC in Detroit is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to welcome patients and manage front desk operations. You will guide check-ins, assist with virtual tablets, and handle walk-ins while maintaining an organized lobby and smooth scheduling.

The role requires strong communication, computer skills, and a patient-centered approach. Occasional travel to other locations may be needed as part of team support and coverage.

Responsibilities

• Open/close front desk tasks, print demographics, file paperwork, and maintain lobby.
• Assist patients unable to use virtual systems.
• Communicate updates with team and support office operations.

What You'll Do

• Greet patients warmly, creating a sense of value and community.
• Guide patients through check-in processes, including assisting with virtual tablets and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Ensure a seamless guest flow by communicating effectively about walk-ins, schedule changes, or patient needs.
• Troubleshoot patient issues and elevate concerns to the appropriate team members, such as the office manager, physician, or billing department.

Front Desk Operations

• Perform all opening and closing tasks for the front desk and lobby, including: Printing patient demographics and schedules.
• Filing necessary paperwork.
• Maintaining a clean and organized lobby area.
• Manually check in patients unable to use virtual systems, ensuring everyone feels supported.

Collaboration and Teamwork

• Communicate efficiently with team members to provide updates on patient arrivals, delays, or other on-site needs.
• Foster an atmosphere of teamwork, contributing to the overall success of the office.

What You Bring

Qualifications

• Experience : At least 1 year in a customer service role. Preferred previous experience in a medical office setting
• Focus : A patient-centered approach, ensuring every guest feels welcome and valued.
• Skills :
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with computers and technology or the ability to quickly learn.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
