We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our team.

Tuscaloosa ENT serves the community by helping patients with a wide variety of medical issues such as ear infections, nasal fractures, allergy testing, hearing loss, balance issues, and more. We have been around for over 50 years with exceptional doctors and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1 year experience in a medical field preferred
  • Experience with EMR systems
  • Knowledge of various insurance companies and payor rules
  • Experience with insurance verification
  • Experience obtaining copayment and deductible amounts
  • Experience scheduling patient visits
  • Experience handling patient records and HIPAA compliance
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office ethics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to work independently
  • Effective interaction with management and staff
  • Promotes teamwork and professionalism
  • Reliable attendance
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greet patients and visitors professionally and energetically
  • Check patients in and out
  • Collect balances, copays, deductibles, and self-pay amounts
  • Schedule appointments and document appropriately
  • Post payments and provide receipts
  • Promote patient portal and Google reviews
  • Verify insurance information
  • Reconcile daily receipts
  • Answer incoming calls and messages promptly
  • Schedule online appointments and notify staff
  • Document no-shows in EMR
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Distribute and unpack front desk supplies
  • Report equipment or safety issues
  • Manage front door lock/unlock and turn off/on televisions
  • Gather information for hospital consults
  • Address patient portal tasks
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Answer calls warmly
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical duties as needed
