Job summary

Northwell Health in Norwalk, CT seeks a Medical Practice Patient Representative for a full-time day shift (7:45am–5:30pm). You will provide clerical and administrative support, greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, and coordinate care across practices.

You\'ll manage appointments, handle billing like co-pays, retrieve records, and ensure compliance and accurate communication via EMR. Travel between practices as needed; minimum six months experience; salary $18.13–$34.50 per hour;

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of experience in a medical office or related setting.
• Proficiency with data entry and MS Office; strong communication skills.
• Experience with EMR systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
• Ensures accuracy of patient's information, including demographics and insurance.
• Answers phones, routes call, takes messages, and assures accurate communication both verbally and via the EMR system
• Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
• Schedules and reschedules appointments according to office protocols
• Monitor applications and manage worklists as applicable.
• Collects co-pays and reconciles money for deposit.
• Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
• Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation where applicable.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Maintains and Models the Organization values.
• Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education, Skills, Experience

Required: High School graduate or equivalent. Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred, Data Entry, Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal). Minimum Experience: Six months.

Other Information

Ability to travel between practices as needed.

Salary Range: $18.13 - $34.50 Hourly
