Job summary

St. Mary’s Physician Associates is a multi-specialty medical group based in Enid, Oklahoma. The Medical Office Specialist will greet patients, register them, coordinate schedules, and support clinicians with exams and procedures in a busy outpatient setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and a Medical Office Assistant/Specialist program or Medical Assistant training, plus at least one year of medical experience. Strong administrative and customer service skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completed a Medical Office Assistant/Specialist program or Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Minimum of one year of medical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
• Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer software, including applications and programming.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.
• Checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompany patients to exam/procedure room; assist as needed; collect history; perform screenings per guidelines.
• Assisting physicians/nurses with procedures, charting.
• Relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls and providing information.
• Sending/receiving patient records; obtaining lab/x-ray reports; scheduling appointments.
• Verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; managing charts for accuracy.
• Setting up instruments and equipment; restocking exam/procedure rooms.
