Job summary

St. Mary’s Physician Associates in Enid, Oklahoma, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and staff in patient care. Duties include vitals, venipuncture, EMR documentation, and front desk support in a fast-paced clinic.

Required are: High School Diploma, Medical Assistant certificate or progress toward it, and current BLS. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain certification within six months of employment.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Medical Assistant Certification of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out process.
• Knowledge of general medical office procedures.
• Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of patient care duties under physician direction.
• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height).
• Venipuncture and procedures as directed by the physician within the scope of practice.
• Document in the Electronic Medical Record per SMPA guidelines.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Assist in covering the front desk as required.
