Job summary

AdventHealth in Parker, Colorado, is seeking a Guest Services Registrar to welcome patients, verify demographics and insurance, and register services, ensuring accurate data and smooth clinic flow.

You will support financial clearance, cooperative care with clinical partners, and patient education on portals and follow-up steps, with a focus on timely, high-quality service.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service in a medical office or related setting.
• Experience with medical terminology, coding, charge entry and payment collection preferred.
• Prior collections experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries; direct calls as needed.
• Welcome patients and update demographics, insurance and billing information; process forms in systems.
• Register patients for services; verify accuracy; assist with discharge to maximize reimbursement.
• Clarify and document financial assessments, eligibility and benefits memos to support post-care needs.
• Maintain communication with clinical partners to ensure smooth patient access and operations.

Job Description:

Answers incoming phone calls, responds to inquiries, and directs calls appropriately. Welcomes patients; updates, verifies, and enters patient demographics, insurance, and billing information and processes forms into appropriate systems. Registers patients for services, ensures accuracy, facilitates timely discharge, and maximizes reimbursement. Ensures all financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits memos are clear, updated, and thorough to support post-care financial needs. Maintains a working relationship with clinical partners to ensure open communication between clinical, ancillary, and patient access departments, enhancing patient experiences. Provides timely and continual coverage of assigned work area to offer prompt patient service and availability for all clinical partners’ registration needs. Performs specialty services and duties as requested to ensure the smooth operation of the Guest Services departments. Promotes a safe work environment. Communicates patients’ status to appropriate team members and keeps patients apprised to maintain effective operational flow. Provides education to patients regarding test locations, patient portal use, and follow-up (non-clinical) actions. Requests co-pays and/or outstanding balance at the time of check-in respectfully but firmly. Other duties as assigned.

Education

• Associate and/or higher-level education or completed coursework in health services administration or other related medical or business field. [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study

• High School Grad or Equivalent Required
• Associate's Degree in Health Services Administration or other related medical or business field Preferred

Work Experience

• 1+ customer services and medical office or equivalent with medical terminology, coding, charge entry and payment collection. [Preferred]
• Prior collections experience. [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) [Preferred]
