Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant with phlebotomy and EKG duties to support the clinical team. The role requires venipuncture experience, BLS/MA certs, and the ability to work under supervision in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include drawing blood, recording vitals in EMR, performing EKGs, and assisting with patient coordination and translations as needed. Weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a 6–12 month Medical Assisting program or 1–3 years MA experience is required.
• Chinese language highly desirable.
• Medical Assistant Certification including phlebotomy and EKG required.
• Venipuncture experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine medical assistant functions per policy and service standards.
• Record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, height, weight) in EMR.
• Draw blood and collect specimens per infection control policies.
• Process and reconcile specimens for lab pickup.
• Perform EKGs and routine tests as per policy.
• Translate as needed and assist with patient coordination.
• Provide front desk coverage as needed.
• Schedule follow-up visits and transportation for participants.
