University Clinical Health is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to handle clerical duties, patient scheduling, and Epic-based chart management in a family medicine setting. The role emphasizes excellent patient service, accurate data entry, and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.

The MOA will support physicians and staff, manage call traffic, and ensure smooth referral processing while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality in a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately determine patient needs as a call center representative for scheduling, taking messages, transferring calls, and completing tasks.
• Assist patients, clinical staff, and physicians by organizing, receiving, scanning, and distributing patient health information following HIPAA guidelines.
• Support Referral Hub by following current referral policies and workflows.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments with specialists and follow up on referrals and diagnostics.
• Enter patient information into electronic medical records accurately.
• Manage inbound fax system within the Family Medicine department and respond to tasks in Epic.
• Perform pre-certifications, authorizations, chart preparation, and other clerical tasks.
• Maintain strong working relationships with administrative and clinical teams.
• Perform other duties within the scope of the skillset as assigned.
